A Month In Review: September 2016

month-in-review-spt-2016

Well, school is back. So things have been very busy for the last month. I haven’t had as much time for art recently, but I still got several pieces done that I’m really happy with. I did some palette requests on Tumblr, which was fun, and I got all the Blue Team redesigns done and redrew the height chart! I also started an Ask Blog for the characters so I can work on character development/consistency. You can find it here and leave questions if you like!

things-i-watched

things-watched-sept-2016

We watched several things this month. My sister’s friend came round fairly early in the month and as usual she brought her Studio Ghibli collection. This time we watched Laputa: Castle in the Sky. It was good, with a lot of cool animation and stuff. Not my one of my favourite Ghibli films, but still a lot of fun and worth watching.

We borrowed Batman Begins from our neighbors and watched that. I’ve never watched a Batman film before so that was fun. It was good, and quite Batman-y.

My sister got Iron Man for her birthday, so we finally watched that! It was great.

We also started watching the tv series, Victoria, which is about Queen Victoria (if that wasn’t obvious). It’s very interesting and well made.

things-i-played

games-played-sept-2016

This section isn’t going to be a permanent fixture, but I played enough games this month I thought it was worth giving it it’s own section. After drawing fan art I succumbed to playing Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, since we own it and there was a free save slot. I haven’t played strategy games in a while so that was pretty fun. It’s pretty hard too though.

I got a new phone this month! And I can play games on it 😀 (what do you mean that’s not very important). Most importantly Pokemon Go. Woo! It’s fun. And also makes walking fun. So that’s good. Yay for exercise (and Pokemon)

I also got the Love Live School Idol Festival game. It’s a lot of fun. My sister has it too so we can nerd over it together.

things-i-read

books-read-sept-2016

I finished the Ascendance Trilogy, which I started a long while ago. It was good!

I also finally got round to reading The Hidden Oracle, (which I finished literally like a week before book two was released :P). It was a lot of fun. Lots of good Rick Riordan-ishness.

I didn’t write any blog posts this month.

Fandom Stuff:

We got some more episodes of Steven Universe. Then it went on hiatus again. But at least we have some shorts to look forwards to!

Moana got yet another trailer.

RWBY got a character short! It’s amazing. So much hype for season 4

Other Internet Stuff:

next-month

Wow, there is so much stuff I’m hyped for in October!

RWBY Volume 4 begins on the 22nd! The character short released recently has me super excited for that!

Haikyuu!! Season 3 Begins!

The final Ruby Redfort book comes out! Hopefully it’ll be good!

There’s Halloween as well of course.

My Little Pony Season 6 ends! I haven’t been all that impressed with this season so far, but from what people have said about the leaked first part the finale will be amazing.

So that’s what I’ve been up to in September! Have you watched, read or played any of the things I did this month? Anything you think I should try? What are you looking forwards to in October? Hope you all have a great month!

A Month In Review: August 2016

month-in-review-aug-2016

Wow, it doesn’t feel like it’s been a whole month since I last wrote one of these. Yet here we are. So, the Summer holidays have ended. A lot of stuff happened this month. I went to Sweden with two of my siblings towards the end of the month, which was a lot of fun. When we got back my best friend came up to visit, which was even more fun. We mostly fangirled over Akagami no Shirayukihime and analysed anime OPs (which is tons of fun btw). She also got me a Naruto poster and some other stuff I’ll talk about later.

I worked more with Clip Studio paint and I’m really used to it now. It’s a fantastic program. I feel like I really got a lot better at shading, and practiced drawing comic pages. I also livestreamed my art for the first time! A bunch of people came and it was a lot of fun. You can follow me on Picarto if you want to get notified every time I do that again. I also opened Commissions! Only for DeviantArt points at the moment but I hope to do it for real money eventually. You can find more details about that here. Best of my art this month:

Things I Watched

things-watched-aug-2016

We watched quite a few movies this month! First my whole family went to see Finding Dory in the cinema. It was a lot of fun and quite a bit of a tear jerker.

Then we watched Spider Man, which I somehow have not seen before now. It was fantastic. Very Spider Man. (who’s one of my favourite superheroes)

While we were in Sweden we rented The Peanuts Movie and watched that. It’s a really lovely movie. I think it really captures the feel of the comics in a very fun, heartwarming way.

Just like last year, my friend brought up the latest Mission Impossible movie, which this year was Rogue Nation. It was good. I don’t really have all that much specific to say about it, but it was a good action movie.

I also rewatched Voltron: Legendary Defender (with my brother), and Patema Inverted (with my friend and sister)

things-i-read

books-read-aug-2016

I read all of two books this month. I know. It’s amazing. But anyway. The first was The Scorpio Races, which I’d read the first few pages of a few dozen times in the library before finally deciding to borrow it. It was great. Man eating water horses are cool. So that was cool.

The second book I read was The Screaming Staircase, which was a creepy ghost hunting thing. I’d kinda got the impression it was going to be a Victorian themed thing? Which it wasn’t? But that was okay. It was good and creepy. It’s fun to read creepy things once in a while.

on-the-blog

I did an appearance themed Beautiful People with all of Blue Team. Because I couldn’t choose just one character.

elsewhere-on-the-internet

The Steven Universe Summer event came to an end. It was incredible. And wonderfully, it hasn’t gone on hiatus! And we’re actually getting weekly episodes for a while. Yay.

Miraculous Ladybug will return next year, with two whole back to back seasons with weekly episodes (so that’s 52 episodes! Wow). It’s also apparently getting a live action movie, which I have mixed feelings about.

It looks like Naruto Shippuden is finally actually coming towards it’s end, so I should really catch up on that.

Haikyu!! is confirmed to be getting it’s third season this October! Season 3 will only be ten episodes long, which I assume will be just long enough to cover the Shiratorizawa match. Some people have been complaining about this but honestly I get why it is and I’m fine with it.

Lastly, the  Bleach manga finally ended and it was terrible. Like honestly I can hardly think of a worse way to end a series. Seriously. On the plus side, this means the fandom for the most part skipped the idiotic shipping wars that would have happened no matter how it ended. Instead everyone went on to uniting over how truly terrible the ending was and picking and choosing between their personal headcanons of how it should have ended and ignoring canon. So in a way the terrible, horrible, disastrous ending was almost a blessing.

next-month

Well, school is back, of course. I can’t think of all that much important happening in September. It kinda feels like an in-betweeny month before a whole ton of stuff happens in October. (which I’m really, really looking forwards to!)

So that’s what I got up to in the Summer holidays. How was your August? Have you seen or read any of the things I did this month? Anything you think I should try? What are you looking forwards to in September? I hope you all have a great month!

Beautiful People: Appearance Edition (Blue Team)

Well, it’s time for Beautiful People again! This time I couldn’t decide who to do so I’ll be doing all of Blue Team in one go. Which might make this post long but I’ll try to keep it from being too messy. On to the questions!

Blue Team Headshots

From left to right, top to bottom: Marianne, Johanna, Elliot, Adelle, Jackson and Cass.

1. Give a brief overview of their looks. (Include a photo if you want!)

^^There you go. We’ll go into more detail with the rest of the questions so I’ll just leave the headshots there for now.

2. Share a snippet that involves description of their appearance.

Not available, since 1) I haven’t started writing properly yet, and 2) It’s going to be a webcomic so there won’t be descriptions beside the basic crappy ones I write for characters I haven’t drawn yet.

3. What is the first thing people might notice about them?

For Marianne, likely her hair, or her height. Long pale blonde hair, though not the strangest colour you’d come across in Unity, kinda stands out. The fact that she’s several inches taller than just about any other girl (and several of the guys) you’d likely see her with also stands out. On the flip side, Johanna is pretty short, but gives off the air that she could probably beat you up at a moment’s notice. Elliot doesn’t particularly stand out appearance wise, but his expression generally gives the impression he’s silently laughing at you. Of course, the first thing people would notice about Adelle is her bright blue hair. For Jackson, probably his orange eyes or general expressionlessness. Lastly, for Cass, her metal arm is pretty noticeable. If it isn’t visible at the time perhaps her red hair or sad blue eyes.

4. What are their unique features? (Ex: freckles, big ears, birthmark, scars, etc.)

Most noticeably, several of them have unnatural hair or eye colours; Jackson has orange eyes, while Adelle has blue hair and Marianne pale blonde (which while not an unnatural hair colour usually, is odd considering the rest of her family have red or brown hair). All three of them also have blue blood because of their fairy heritage, though you usually can’t tell unless they’re blushing or bleeding. Both Johanna and Cass have quite a lot of scars in various places, not to mention Cass’s metal arm.

5. How tall are they? What is their build (Ex: stocky, slender, petite, etc.)

Marianne and Jackson are both around 6 foot (the latter being slightly taller), CassJohanna, and Elliot are all hovering in the 5’5 area (approximately), and Adelle is the shortest at less than 5 foot tall. (I have yet to make an updated height chart so all heights are approximate). Build wise, Jackson and Marianne are both tall, but Marianne is more slender. Johanna is relatively short and muscular, and Elliot is around her height but much skinnier. Cass is a bit taller than either of them and somewhere between them in build. Adelle is small and petite, giving her a rather young fairy like appearance.

6. What is their posture like? How do they carry themselves?

Marianne stands very straight, and somewhat stiff. Johanna is more confident and relaxed in her posture, though usually ever so slightly tense, ready to spring into action at a moments notice. Elliot‘s posture would also be described as confident and relaxed, but with more of an emphasis on the relaxed part. He also comes across as ready for anything, but more in a ‘smart’ way than a ‘ready to punch things’ way. Adelle holds herself in a way that oozes constant optimism, with a bouncy but delicate attitude that makes it seem like she might explode with excitement at any instant. She never seems to be standing quite still and practically skips when she walks. Jackson is more stiff and awkward, with a tendency to slouch when he stands. Cass holds herself loosely but purposefully. Almost every move she makes seems to have a certain amount of purpose and routine.

7. Your character has been seen on a “lazy day” (free from usual routine/expectations): what are they wearing and how do they look?

Marianne would dress more or less the same, but less meticulously. She’d be less likely to wear anything with collars, or at least not do up her collar to the top button, something she likely wouldn’t even consider doing on a normal day. Johanna would dress the same as she usually does, since she always wears comfortable clothing, but she’d probably go without her shoes or gloves if she’s staying indoors. Elliot is usually a complete mess on rest days. He probably wouldn’t brush his hair at all and wear rumpled clothing. If he’s been working particularly hard recently he’d probably just crash in bed for the entire day. Ironically, Adelle would put much more effort into her clothes than usual. Time off means more time off to put together the cutest outfit possible, and maybe try something new with her hair. Jackson would be more or less the same as he usually is. Cass would wear even looser, more comfortable clothing than usual, and probably wouldn’t bother to check whether her clothes actually go together.

8. Do they wear glasses, accessories, or jewelry on a regular basis? Do they have any article of clothing or accessory that could be considered their trademark?

Elliot has glasses, and is almost always wearing the exact same black jacket. Adelle has her hair clips. She wears blue almost exclusively, and likes to look cute or pretty whenever possible. She also almost always wears skirts or dresses rather than trousers, regardless of the situation. Cass always wears two wedding rings on a cord round her neck. Johanna‘s black fingerless gloves could be considered a trademark. Marianne has a tendency to dress more formally then necessary.

9. Have they ever been bullied or shamed because of their looks? Explain!

For the most part, no not really. Adelle sometimes gets snide comments about her hair colour, which she finds mildly irritating.

10. Are they happy with how they look? If they could change anything about their appearance, what would it be?

Marianne isn’t exactly unhappy with how she looks, but she sometimes wishes her hair was red or brown like almost everyone else in her family’s. Johanna and Elliot don’t really care, though Johanna occasionally wishes she was slightly taller. Adelle is very much happy with how she looks. Jackson doesn’t really think about it much. Cass doesn’t really mind either way.

That was interesting to write out. It really helped me get a better idea of the characters. Hope you all enjoyed it!

A Month In Review: July 2016

Month In Review - Jul. 2016

This is very late because we were away camping, but here we go! I didn’t do one of these for June since not much happened so a couple of things from then will be included here.

I have Summer Holidays now! Which is nice. I took part in Camp NaNoWriMo this year with one of my friends, which was fun. I got a lot of planning for Blue Team done. I also got headshots done of the main cast. Hopefully I’ll be doing an updated height chart soon.

I also got Clip Studio Paint! It’s amazing.

Things I Watched

things watched jul 2016

I watched Love Live! School Icol Project because my sister said to and the spin-off was coming out soon. It made me way more emotional than I thought it would.

Then I started watching said spin-off/sequel, Love Live! Sunshine! which is more or less the same premise but set in a small seaside town instead of Tokyo. The characters are lovely so far. I think my favourite is Yoshiko/Yohane, she’s hilarious.

We bought Kung Fu Panda 3 and watched that with our cousin. It was a lot of fun, but the second film is still my favourite.

Lastly I watched Voltron: Legendary Defender because literally everyone on the internet abruptly became obsessed with it. I’m not into giant-mechas-in-space myself, but it was still very enjoyable. The characters and plot are great and it gives me lots of feelings, which makes an automatic winner for me. It’s also surprisingly funny.

Behold, the Universe’s last hope. Just, go watch this show already.

Things I Read

things read July 2016

I didn’t get many books read this month. However I did manage to read the entire Bleach manga within a few weeks, because I’m insane. It’s very addictive (as you can probably tell), and pretty dang good. I do think there are too many fights? Like I know it’s a shonen so fights are pretty much a given but we end up having fights between random secondary characters we’ve only known for a few chapters and jump between like ten fights at a time, so it gets a little tedious. Still, there were a lot of good characters and it did succeed in making me cry several times, so it still qualifies as a good manga I’d love to watch the anime for.

I also read Twinepathy, which I started reading as it was serialized on the internet and decided to buy so I could read the finished thing. It was great! There were a lot of creative super powers, which is one of my soft spots so I was bound to like it. Also I need Blaze’s backstory immediately, please and thank you. Looks like the second book’s going to be centered more around him so hopefully I won’t have to wait too long.

On the Blog

I did character interviews with both Adelle and Elliot over the last two months, as well as doing Beautiful People with Cass.

Elsewhere on the Internet

Steven Universe is back with the Summer of Steven, new episodes every weekday for four weeks! Some serious stuff went down, including new fusions, backstory, and friendships, as well as boatloads of angst. It’s wonderful.

My Little Pony also returned, though I haven’t had time to watch the new episodes yet.

Love Live Sunshine started, and like I said it’s been lovely so far.

San Diego Comic Con was a thing, so lots of fandoms got new information, including a confirmed second season for Voltron and teases for new characters, kwamis, and episode plots for Miraculous Ladybug

Moana got several new trailers and I’m super excited for it!

Next Month

I’ll be going to Sweden towards the end of the month with two of my siblings! Which will be exciting.

There’s also the Olympics, so that’s fun.

So that’s what I’ve been up to the last couple of months. Have you seen or read any of the things I did this month? Anything you think I should try? Planning anything fun next month? I hope you all have a fantastic Summer!

Interview with Elliot (Blue Team)

Elliot headshot

Well, this is later than planned because we’ve had problems with the internet recently. But it’s time for another character interview. This time it’s Elliot, a major character from my webcomic in planning, Blue Team. You can find his bio here.

Me: Well, there’s quite a few less questions than usual, probably because I hardly ever talk about you.

Elliot: *leans back in his chair* Well that’s your own fault then isn’t it?

Me: Actually it’s your fault for being such a piece of garbage.

Elliot: Well that’s rude. Are we going to answer these questions or not?

Me: Right. First we have a question from Emmie, a character belonging to Picklesthehamster: What does ‘magically gifted human’ mean?

Elliot: A magically gifted human is anyone with an ability who wasn’t born with one. While magically gifted Fey-Bloods are born with their abilities, humans can be given by powers by fairies. Basically it means we’re all talented geniuses who earned their abilities.

Me: Well, that last part isn’t entirely accurate. While it is the case for Cass and Elliot, you could also effectively buy an ability, though it’s pretty limited what you can legally get that way and it might require some very specific wishing. Next we have several questions from Picklesthehamster on Ravelry. First: Do you like the Blue Team?

Elliot: They’re alright I guess. Cass is interesting, and Adelle is amusing. Marianne is very easy to get riled up so that’s entertaining.

Me: Right, next question: What annoys you the most?

Elliot: Uhhh… Having to do things I don’t want to, I guess. And not being able to do things I do want to do.

Me: Last question from Picklesthehamster: Who on your team annoys you the most?

Elliot: …I don’t really get annoyed by people very often. They just seem kind of… insignificant, you know? I guess Marianne can get pretty annoying at times just because she won’t freaking shut up.

Me: Next we have several questions from GoAgainstTheFlow on Ravelry. First, who do you get along with best?

Elliot: Adelle, I guess. She’s fun to hang out with.

Me: Second: What is your favourite food?

Elliot: Pancakes. They remind me of my grandma. I’ll eat just about anything though.

Me: Third: What is your favourite animal?

Elliot: Cats are nice, I guess. Not a fan of dogs though, they’re too noisy.

Me: Last question: What do you consider the best year of your life?

Elliot: 4961 probably, when I joined Dove. It opened up a lot of good opportunities. Plus mind-control immunity is good.

Me: Well, that’s all the questions we have for today. I hope you all enjoyed that. Let me know if there’s anyone you’d like me to interview next! I’ll be going camping on Sunday for a week so this month’s review post will be pretty late.

Beautiful People: Cass

Well, it’s time for Beautiful People again! This time Cass will be answering the questions.

cass headshot

Cass will be answering herself. any of my comments from now on will be in bold

So Cass, ready to answer some probing and personal questions?

Wait, what?

Kidding, kidding… (or am I?) anyway…

1. Do they want to get married and/or have children? Why or why not?

Well, I already have been married, so I guess that question’s already answered. Children would have been nice but obviously we never got that far in the end. I’m not sure how to explain why without giving a long spoiler filled explanation.

2. What is their weapon of choice?

My arm. *flexes the fingers on her right arm, which is made of metal* I can use several kinds of magic through it using crystals, so it’s pretty handy. It also has detachable fingers and a few other tools in it. I have a suit of armour that goes with it, but I haven’t used it in a few years.

3. What’s the nicest thing they’ve done for someone else, and why did they do it?

I don’t know. There are a lot of different things people would say is the nicest thing I’ve done for different reasons. Several people feel it’s probably the way I listen to everyone, and make them feel loved or something. Which I do because… they’re people? So you should listen to them? And be nice? You’d think it would be common sense.

4. Have they ever been physically violent with someone, and what instigated it?

Oh, many times. It kind of comes with the job. Why do you think I have a suit of armour and a shape shifting arm?  For example, there was that time I blasted a witch in the face with a light beam. That was instigated by the fact that she was kidnapping children and also trying to attack me.

5. Are they a rule-follower or a rebel?

I try to stick to the rules when I can. They are there for a reason, after all. But sometimes I have to break them if the rules get in the way of what’s right. So, a healthy inbetween, I’d like to think.

6. Are they organized or messy?

I do try to stay organized, but things have a tendency to… spread. At least I keep files organized. But my work space would probably be more likely described as messy than not.

7. What makes them feel loved, and who was the last person to make them feel that way?

…Oh great. Do I really have to answer this one?

Yes, please.

*sighs* Well, the first part is easy enough I suppose. I feel most loved when someone takes the time to make sure I’m okay, or just listen to me. I suppose maybe that’s why I’m careful to do so for others. Last person to make me feel that way… Maybe Amy? It used to be Aidan most often. But he’s gone now. Can we move onto the next question?

Sure.

8. What do they eat for breakfast?

Whatever’s going. Everyone who boards at the Dove Association (which is most of us) eats together. Breakfast could be just about anything. I don’t really mind what I eat as long as it’s edible so I’ll just go with whatever’s available.

9. Have they ever lost someone close to them? What happened?

*deep breath* Wow, you sure weren’t wrong about the probing and personal questions. Can we skip this one?

Well, seeing as the answer is chock full of potential spoilers, maybe that’s for the best. She’s lost her husband, Aidan, as you might have picked up by now. Other than that I can’t really give away too much about that, in case of spoilers.

10. What’s their treat of choice?

Hmm… Cookies are always nice. Especially when Luka makes them. He’s evolved into probably the best cookie maker in existence.

aesthetic cass

Well, I hope you all enjoyed that. Cass has been mentioned a fair bit by other characters but I haven’t interviewed her before. We couldn’t answer all the questions properly but hopefully that gave a bit of an insight to her character.

Questions for Elliot!

Well, it’s time to collect questions for another character interview! This time we’ll be interviewing Elliot, a major character from Blue Team, the webcomic I’m planning. here’s a bit about him:

Elliot

this is a slightly outdated picture of him but it still gives an okay basic idea of what he looks like.

Elliot is a fifteen year old magically gifted human with enhanced memory. He grew up outside Unity, in a country where people are still… less than friendly towards fairies and the magically gifted. He found schools there moved far too slowly for him and ended up teaching himself all kinds of things instead. When he was eight he moved with his grandparents to Unity, where he managed to place a good five years ahead and graduated from high school at twelve.

Around this time a fairy, interested by his enormous amount of knowledge and… unusual skills, recommended he join the Dove Organization, as they might find use in his skills and give him opportunities to learn more, and he agreed. The fairy also placed a barrier on his mind, preventing anyone from stealing his knowledge, and making him resistant to all forms of mind control and mind reading. Recently he became a member of Blue Team along with Marianne, Adelle, and their other teammates.

You can find previous interviews here:

Leave your questions in the comments below, and he’ll answer them hopefully on Saturday the 23rd!

Interview with Adelle (Blue Team)

Adelle Character Ref

As promised, it’s time for another character interview! This time I’ll be interviewing Adelle, a major character in my webcomic-in-planning, Blue Team. You can find her bio here. Let’s get started.

Me: *turns to Adelle* you ready?

Adelle: *sits excitedly in a chair, swinging her legs back and forth* Yep!

Me: Right, first we have a bunch of questions from Coretta, a character belonging to MeghanStoryweaver: What’s your favourite food?

Adelle: Cake. Just any kind of cake in general. Preferably with cream or chocolate though. Or both.

Me: Okay. Also from Coretta: Why are you so cute?

Adelle: That’s a secret *winks*

Me: Last two questions from Coretta: Do you have a pet? Is it fluffy?

Adelle: *beaming* Yes I do! I have a big white cat I got for my birthday one time. Her name is Sapphire, I’ve had her since she was a kitten. I’m pretty sure she’s magic. And yes, she is fluffy! She’s just the fluffiest cute adorable kitty cat you will ever have seen in your life and-

Me: *clears throat*

Adelle: *grins* sorry. But she is.

Me: Of course she is. Right, next we have a couple of questions from anderhander on Ravelry: First, is it hard being shortest on the team?

Adelle: Not particularly. Getting stuff from high shelves or whatever is easy with telekinesis, and being small also means I get free piggyback rides if I’m tired or want to see over crowds. There’s sometimes teasing and dumb nicknames of course, but everyone gets that so it’s all good.

Me: Nice to know. Anderhander’s other question: Are you also the youngest member of the team?

Adelle: Yep. I’m just over seven months younger than Elliot, who’s second youngest. A lot of people seem to expect me to be younger than that for some reason.

Me: Right, next we have a bunch of questions from Picklesthehamster. First: Who do you like the most on your team?

Adelle: *rests her chin on her hand, thinking* I think Jackson’s probably the nicest. He’s really thoughtful and always listens to what I have to say. He’s pretty quiet though. Not to mention the whole suppressed emotions thing. Elliot’s a lot of fun, but he can be kinda mean sometimes. Not to me so much, but still. He’s really fun to hang out with though, we get along great.

Me: Second, who annoys you the most on your team?

Adelle: Maybe Johanna? I think she finds me kind of annoying, which is annoying. Like I said, Elliot can be pretty mean sometimes so that’s sometimes annoying too.

Me: Interesting. Next question: Why do you have blue hair?

Adelle: *puts on a serious face* I sold my soul to a witch so she’d turn it blue. *giggles* Just kidding. It’s natural! Bright or ‘unnatural’ hair colours are pretty normal for Fey-Bloods. I’m pretty sure my mother had blue hair, so that would be why mine is too.

Me: Last question from Picklesthehamster: How do you like to spend your free time? And GoAgainstTheFlow wants to know what your favourite pastime is.

Adelle: I spend most of my free time just hanging out with the others. I play with Sapphire a lot, and make sure she stays fluffy and nice looking. Not that she needs much help. Elliot’s my favourite person to hang out with though. We do all kinds of fun stuff. My favourite is probably when we binge-watch TV shows.

Me: A couple more questions from GoAgainstTheFlow: What is your favourite memory?

Adelle: *answers immediately* My mother singing. It’s one of the only clear memories I have of her so I think about it a lot. She has a very nice voice.

Me: Last question: Who is most important to you?

Adelle: *thinks for a while* I suppose my mother. It’s very important to me that I find her someday. Out of people who are around now, though… Maybe Cass? She’s been almost like a second mother for a while now. She’s been kinda… sad, I guess, since Aidan died though. Dove is pretty important to me to, since she’s pretty much the only tie I have to my mother now, besides maybe Sapphire. *trails off into thought*

Me: Well, that’s all the questions we have for today. Thank you for answering them.

Adelle: *sits up and smiles* no problem.

Me: Thanks to everyone who left questions! I hope you enjoyed the interview. Who do you think I should interview next? Thank you for reading!

Adelle: *waves* Bye!

Questions for Adelle!

Well, it’s a month later than originally planned, but it’s time to gather questions for another character interview. This time we’ll be interviewing Adelle, a major character from Blue Team, the webcomic I’m planning. Here’s a bit about her:

Adelle Character Ref

Adelle is a fifteen year old fey-blood with telekinesis, the ability to move things with her mind. She spent the first seven years of her life in the Fairy World, which is basically another dimension connected to the world through often barely noticeable portals. Because time passes differently and age is irrelevant there, she often seems to act much younger than she really is, and comes across as a little odd.

She’s been with the Dove Association for the last eight years, ever since her fairy mother left her there for unknown reasons. Recently she became a member of Blue Team, along with Marianne and their other team mates.

A Month in Review: May 2016

Month in Review - May 2016

Well, May is finished! It’s been a fairly busy month. It was my birthday on the twelfth! I was slightly ill at the time so that was annoying. It wasn’t too bad though. I got Thor and Captain America 2 on blu-ray (it still feels weird to me that we can actually use blu-ray now), and a cool t-shirt.

This one, in fact.

We also went to a circus, which was cool, and rode a steam boat around a lake. I went to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at Rheged. There were a lot of fantastic photos there.

This was my favourite one. It’s so confusing to look at.

I got a ton of art done, mostly requests and birthday presents. A Fairy Tail Reversed!AU (where everything’s the same but the roles are switched, so Lucy brought Natsu to Fairy Tail, Erza turned evil instead of Jellals, etc.) popped up on Tumblr, so I also did some fan art for that, which was a lot of fun. I also worked some more on my Naruto OCs.

Things I Watched

We watched Captain America: Civil War in the cinema! It was great. Go watch it if you haven’t already.

I’ve also been rewatching Gravity Falls with my dad. It’s really interesting spotting all the tiny pieces of foreshadowing.

Things I Read

books read May 2016

I got lots more reading done this month than I have in a while. I continued reading the Naruto manga, and I’ve gotten up to the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Some things are much better done than in the anime, but I think some parts are actually better in the anime.

I also finished the Fruits Basket manga! It was great. I also started reading the sequel, Fruits Basket Another. Yuki’s son is so fabulous it’s ridiculous.

Lastly I read the entire Harry Potter series within just over a week. It was good, but I’m slightly unsatisfied with the ending. (I have so many questionssssssss)

On the Blog

I didn’t have time to do Adelle’s character interview what with being ill and busy, but I did do Beautiful People for the first time in a while. Hopefully I’ll be able to do the interview in June.

I also made a guest appearance at Stori Tori’s Blog in a post about writing characters from England and Scotland

Elsewhere on the Internet

Fandom Stuff:

My Little Pony Season 6 continues with a couple of very cleverly done episodes, including a Christmas Special in May.

The Beauty and the Beast live action movie got a teaser trailer

Steven Universe is finally back! We ended up seeing some of the soon-to-come episodes early. They’re fantastic. Peridot and Lapis Lazuli are the Best Thing.

Naruto Shippuden finally returned to the plot, with an extended version of Kaguya’s backstory, which has been very interesting.

Other Internet Stuff:

Next Month

Go Teen Writers is holding another 100 for 100 challenge which starts on the 1st of June!

And I’ll be collecting questions for Adelle’s character interview.

So that’s what I’ve been up to this month. How was your May? Have you seen, read or done that I have, and is there anything you think I should try? Looking forwards to anything in June? I hope you all have a great month!
